Football meets Art
Where football lives - the adidas campus in Herzogenaurach, Germany will become the epicenter of the sporting world during the European Football Championship. While the German national team moves into its EC quarters at Home Ground, the Halftime Gallery at the Headquarters will be transformed into an exhibition space for the European Football Championship with an unusual ambience:
Here, artistically enhanced photographs from the adidas archives appear on large-format artboards, hang suspended in space in a mobile or appear as dynamic film clips spanning multiple screens. The protagonists: prominent players from the German and other national teams depicted in passionate competition for the European Championship titles of decades past. In the center of the space, bleachers and a large format screen create a stadium-like backdrop for photo and video shoots during interviews and press events.
"For the exhibition commemorating EC 2021, we were particularly inspired by the Uniforia ball design. Using its characteristic brush-stroke elements and bright color palate, the Dart Design Group brought the visual materials spanning a wide range of special football moments into the here and now" explains Gabriele Herzog, history management at adidas.
And it’s breathtaking: Here a walk-through a pop-art-style branded world has been created with the current adidas collection for the UEFA Euro 2020 TM blended together with a history of international football. Tangible, emotional highlights that include spectacular goals, powerful endgame scenes and exceptional team victories make up the content for 30-60 second film clips. And of course, they all feature the adidas products without which these moments might never have been possible. This is storytelling par excellence - pixel by pixel.
